Why I decide to develop app for visually impaired?
One day, I watched a video about the life of the visually impaired. It was only a few minutes of video but I could sympathize with their suffering. They all had in common for walking around the street and in some areas, braille blocks are not installed. After that video, I wanted to give them comfort even if my assistance would be too small for them and I wanted to try my best as possible I can to give them a present of a simple way-finding app!!
My first step
With a small survey through youtube videos, it is not enough for me to get an idea of what they want for the function of the way-finding app. Therefore, I mailed to National Welfare Center for the Disabled about more than 20 centers. For those centers, thankfully 2 centers had responded to my mail and 5 centers participated in my survey!!
Survey format

Using this google survey, I could get the proportion of what they most suffering from and their opinion about additional functions for this way-finding app.
Responds from the centers

To Briefly summarize their response, according to the chart in red color, the visually impaired is most suffering from finding ways. The chart with blue indicates the visually impaired usually use IOS phones.
1. The opinion about the additional function of way-finding app
-Needs high accuracy for finding ways
-Too many risk factors for the visually impaired
2. The function that must be contained in the app
-Search for a destination and call that destination
-Focus on cleaning up the street to walk freely
2 Mail Responses

Thankfully I got 2 mail responses!!
The first response said that they are having difficulties because of the obstacle randomly located in the street. She recommended making it an app to make a convenient use for the visually impaired.
The second response recommended I have an offline survey.
Because of their thankful and kind responses, I could begin my project with a good start~!
